Why is there a picture of the North Pole on the board this week?
Last week there was a picture of the Eiffel Tower.  Ben W (Year 5) correctly worked out that it was March 31, 1889 when the tower was opened.  It was only supposed to be there for 20 years!  When it first opened most Parisians hated it. Novelist Guy de Maupassant—who claimed to hate the tower —supposedly ate lunch in the Tower's restaurant every day. When asked why, he answered that it was the one place in Paris where one could not see the structure.

Puzzle of the week
Yet again, no children worked out the puzzle of the week.  Mr Martindale did though!  Are they too difficult?  Only Georgia in year 5 has managed to work one out.  Can you work out this week's puzzle?

12 members were present at a board meeting. Each member shook hands with all of the other members before & after the meeting. How many hand shakes were there?

Ned's Joke of the Week
What did the alien say to the petrol pump

'Take your finger out of your ear when I am taking to you!' ...

Next Week
I will try to update this page from the Ski Holiday.  There is, hopefully, wi-fi at the hotel and I will endeavour to provide daily updates.  I will provide parents an email address on Saturday, if they wish to send a friendly message during our trip.
