Ski Holiday Day 2 Morning

Breakfast - bread, croissant, cornflakes, muesli, ham, cheese, jam, honey and yoghurt.

This morning the children experienced the slopes for the first time.  Weather is glorious, perfect weather for surfing!  Skiing is possible on all slopes, although the lower slopes only have a few cms.
The first morning, as usual, was a time to discover our "ski legs".  Some of us are still looking for them :)  The children have been put into three groups according to experience and ability.  Mrs |Major reported a good morning with the beginners with very few falls - I'm not sure I believe her judging by the state of some children's trousers!  I spent the morning with the advanced beginners so we had plenty of falls, sulks, smiles and collisions.  Happily, no injuries to report.  We have a mad Frenchman as our instructor with a very English name - Jeff!  He has the patience of a saint and I'm sure the children will make rapid progress.  Mr Martindale took the experienced group along with an attractive French lady - he assures me he spent the morning focussed on the groups skiing ability ;)  All the children came back with tales of parallel turns, skiing backwards and waiting for Mr Martindale while he recovered from a spectacular fall.  I'm sure he, along with the children, will make good progression in the capable arms of his instructor.

Lunch - burger, chips and salad.  By far, the most popular meal so far!  We will be back out on the slopes this afternoon.
I will try to upload some photos this evening.  The internet connection is verrrry slooooow and uploading a photo proved impossible last night :(
