Ski Trip Day 5 Evening

Ski Trip Day 5 Evening

Dinner

Starter French Onion Soup

Main Fish, chips and peas

Dessert Strawberry Corneto

This evening, we were supposed to be having a Karaoke night. Unfortunately, due to Mr Martindale’s sore throat, it has been delayed to allow time for his “singing” voice to return. And I thought the year six girls were the divas! In typical Salterford style, the children decided that they would put on a talent show. Danielle organised the judges (Jack, Annabelle and Danielle) and George compared the show with help from Cameron. We were treated so an epic show with singing (Anushka, Jessie, Jessica K, Tatziana), magic (Mrs Martindale and Jessica S) and comedy (Francesca). We were also promised a special dance act. All the acts received a huge cheer but the biggest cheer was saved for the special dance act. It came as a bit of a surprise when George announced that Mr Britten and Mr Martindale would be performing a special one-off version of Gangnam Style! Never, in the history of dance, has there been such a spectacle.

It all came down to the judges. In an outrageous twist, Mr Britten and Mr Martindale did not win. “I haven’t felt this bad about a talent show since Wagner was kicked off the X-Factor” wailed Mr Britten. The overall winner was Anushka, for her rendition of “My heart will go on”.

Room Inspection

Every day, the children’s room are inspected by Mrs Martindale. She takes the job very seriously. On the first day she found unmade beds, smelly socks on the floor and toilet seats left up! The boys’ rooms were even worse. However, since the first day, standards have improved dramatically. The hotel staff said that they have never had a school with such immaculate rooms. The score are very close and only three points separates first from last. Jessica, Tatziana and Anushka have a slight lead but it could all change by the end of the week.

Skiers of the day

Jack for determination to improve.

Macy for her style and courage on all slopes.

“The beret of shame”

Many candidates again today. Jessie for her slalom catastrophe, Annabelle for attempting to hide the beret at breakfast, Francesca for her Kamikaze skiing and Max for skiing into a fence and attempting to ski backwards without actually moving. The “beret of shame” was awarded this evening to Max who wore it with pride for the rest of the evening.
