Day 3 Ski Trip

Ski Trip Day 3

Breakfast – All the usual plus bacon rolls (How very French!)

Both groups headed out to the slopes, full of excitement. The sky was as blue as yesterday but there was a definite chill in the air. Not enough to worry about but maybe the sign of things to come. The piste was slightly icy and required careful skiing. Despite this, the children had a fairly incident free morning. Lois, following on from her bum boarding exploits obviously decided she was better on her backside than on skis and spent a lot of the morning on the floor. Dylan tangled with the button lift and lost. Although they are called drag lift, riding face down and head first is not the preferred method.

Lunch – Vegetable soup, Chicken Pasta bake with salad and bread, fruit and yoghurt

Most ski lessons are fairly similar. Take chair lift up the mountain, ski down, rinse, repeat. However, we are constantly amused, educated and chastised by our ski instructor Christian. With a face as rugged as a rock face and a tan that could be described as “fifty shades of brown”.

The wisdom of Christian.

Throughout the week, I intend to recall some of Christian’s teachings in the hope that they may inspire us all to discover our inner skier.

“Don’t fight the skis!”

“If you don’t stop snow ploughing; you will end up as a sixty year old snow plougher”

To Callum – “I will talk to the trees; they are better listeners than you”

“If you listen to me you will improve, if you don’t you will not”

To Jack “I will tell you when you are doing it right and when you are doing it wrong. You are doing it wrong!”

All the above sound better in a French accent.

Highlights of the day so far
